A NEW LEVEL OF CONFIDENCE

The devil can’t take your calling, but he will attack your confidence. If he can take your confidence, he will shut down your calling. Living life without confidence, is like trying to steer your boat without a motor.  The Gospel should make you more confident because it is based on grace and what God can do through you instead of what you can do for God in your own strength.

1. Increase Capacity

In Judges 6:12 we are told “The angel of the Lord appeared and said to him, “The Lord is with you, O valiant warrior.” And in verse 15 Gideon responded, “O Lord, how shall I deliver Israel?” Behold, m family is the least in Manasseh, and I am the youngest in my father’s house”. God was expanding Gideon’s capacity as a “Valiant Warrior”. Do you ever notice how your confidence goes up when you KNOW you can do something well.

Everything in life has a capacity. Just like things have capacity, people have capacity There is a lot of things that God would like to share with us but we need to have the capacity to bear it.  Our capacity increase intentionally. The more you increase your capacity, the more you increase your value. This is true in different aspect of life.  The greater the capacity of a steal beam to hold a building, the greater the value.  It is also true that YOU ARE TESTED IN LIFE ACCORDING TO YOUR VALUE TO THE KINGDOM.  The bible gives many examples that the greater the capacity, the greater the value, the greater the value...the greater the test. There is a price when God starts bragging about you.  Job was such a man. This is why whenever you make a decision for righteousness, you will be test.  The moment you decide to quit a habit or addiction, you will be tested. Why? Because you are about to increase your value to the kingdom.  Every time you pass a test you increase in value in the kingdom.

2. Develop a Clear Conscience

Then then angel tells Gideon “Take the meat and the unleavened bread and lay them on this rock, and pour out the broth.” And he did so. 21 Then the angel of the Lord put out the end of the staff that was in his hand and touched the meat and the unleavened bread; and fire sprang up from the rock and consumed the meat and the unleavened bread. Then the angel of the Lord vanished from his sight.22 When Gideon saw that he was the angel of the Lord, he said, “Alas, O Lord God! For now I have seen the angel of the Lord face to face.”23 The Lord said to him, “Peace to you, do not fear; you shall not die.”24 Then Gideon built an altar there to the Lord and named it The Lord is Peace." (Judges 6:20-24).  The second principle  of develop a bold confidence is to have a clear conscience. Clear conscience breeds peace and peace breeds strength.  This is why Devil wants you to violate your conscience. The devil goes after your confidence through your conscience. He wants you to defile your conscience.  If you have violated your conscience lately, I want to let you know that God is the only one who can cleanse your conscience.  There is a strong relationship between a strong confidence and the cleansing power that comes through the blood  of  Jesus. Revelations 7:14 says

"they overcame by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony". Often a mistake people make when they don't have a clear conscience, they stay away from the very place they will find freedom  - God and in connection with God’s people. Be assured that Jesus is your representative in the court of condemnation. CONFIDENCE COMES FROM YOUR CONVICTION GOD WILL NEVER STOP CARING. TAKE YOUR DISGRACE TO THE THRONE OF GRACE.  The key to a clear conscience is confession. Confess your sins and mistakes before God.    We can have the confidence that we can "draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water." (Hebrews 10:22).

3. Seek Close Community

The third principle in develop confidence  in found in (Judges 7:3) "  Now therefore come, proclaim in the hearing of the people, saying, ‘Whoever is afraid and trembling, let him return and depart from Mount Gilead.’” So 22,000 people returned, but 10,000 remained” and in (Judges 7:7) " The Lord said to Gideon, “I will deliver you with the 300 men who lapped and will give the Midianites into your hands; so let all the other people go, each man to his home.”  People with close community and surround themselves with people who will infuse courage in your inner person. The fact is that WE ARE BETTER TOGETHER.   You need a confidence booster team around you.  You need people who will help you see the God dimension.

4. Maintain Consistency

In Judges 6:11 we are told  that "Then the angel of the Lord came and sat under the oak that was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite as his son Gideon was beating out wheat in the wine press in order to save it from the Midianites”.  We notice that Gideon was a man with disciplined consistency. Athletes will be the first to tell you that practice makes you confident.  Confidence comes from consistency.  If your desire is to grow in bold confidence, then it is time to start establishing a daily routine of reading the Word of God. Sometimes we find ourselves opening the bible once every month and wonder why you don't have confidence.  Take small consistent steps forward. Big steps can kill you. Take one step at a time. Sometimes even your enemies will become your step. God will make your enemy your footstool. Just because you have enemies does not mean you are going backwards. Sometimes they were necessary to take your next step. Remember, THE SIZE OF YOUR CONSISTENCY IS YOUR STRENGTH.
